the Department of Occupational Therapy.

research, education and clinical practice towards one vision: Creating
Tomorrow's Practice. Our dynamic clinical and tenure system faculty
collaborate to deliver word-class education and research in OT. Faculty
are award winning scholars and educators with diverse scholarly interests and a
shared commitment to the Scholarship of Practice model that emphasizes a
strong, reciprocal relationship between practice, evidence and stakeholders in
the communities. Consistent with the mission of the university, the
department prioritizes creating an inclusive environment to support its diverse

 including the Model of Human Occupation Clearinghouse, the ADA
 Participation Action Research Consortium and the Children's Participation
 in Environment Research Lab, etc.

 the areas of early intervention and adult chronic disease self-management.
Long-standing international and
 university-level partnerships: faculty/student exchanges with institutions
 in Sweden, Japan, Peru, Israel, etc., interdisciplinary university-level

 psychology, public health, disability studies, social work, and urban
 planning.

The
Position
The Head is the designated executive officer to set the vision for
all academic effort in the department and guide research, education, and
service to realize the mission. The Department Head is responsible for:
providing leadership through strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs of the department;
overseeing fiscal and academic administration of the department, in collaboration with experienced academic program directors;
supporting the professional growth of clinical and tenure track faculty, administrative staff, and students within the department; and
facilitating communication and implementation of university and department policies and procedures.
The Department Head is expected to maintain an independent
research program by identifying funding opportunities, participating in and/or
leading collaborative research teams in developing grant proposals, and
